BPMN is the glue that contexts process in the business |
|
BPMN's BPM diagram is a multi-dimensional notation,
providing the richness of all the Zachman dimensions for us to model
in one diagram. This means we may have representations of who (role),
how (activity), what (deliverables and data stores), when (event),
and where (location) in one diagram. It is thus the "glue" that
cements together disparate but related concepts into a succinct
representation of an process, from where we may branch out to examine
the related artefacts in each dimension in more detail. I commend
BPMN to you as the leading example of holistic business and system
modelling in the world today.
If you would like ot explore more of how you can effectively model your business processes, visit www.bpmn.org to find out more, or call Steve in Australia on +61 (0) 423 311 839 to ask about education and mentoring in this important discipline.

How well do you know your customers? |
Businesses are struggling to market
themselves effectively to customers both online and offline, according
to research unveiled by Microsoft. Small and
medium-sized businesses are struggling to keep on top of their
marketing strategies both online and offline, according to new research
commissioned by Microsoft.
The study found that 84% believe marketing is becoming more challenging
due to the growing complexity of customer needs and revealed that most
businesses are ill-equipped to cope with these demands.
Nearly three-quarters of those polled (74%) admitted using
unsophisticated customer relationship management (CRM) tools in an
attempt to deal with customer needs while an alarming 90% admitted they
needed to get a better understanding of customer requirements.

What's 'Hot' in CRM Applications in 2008 |
|
According to Gartner Group , The CRM applications generating the most interest in 2008 are more-collaborative and analytical CRM, rather than traditional, operational CRM. They're often implemented as enhancements to established, operational CRM implementations, and almost always to support business growth.
Businesses are recognising their customers, capturing and managing customer information; and analysing and using that information to their benefit.
